Certificate in Christian Ministry/CIBI Core Courses

Persons who decide to take a course for personal enrichment or in order to explore the possibility of pursuing a degree in one of CIBI’s programs are welcome at CAIM International Bible Institute.  Perhaps you have previously completed a graduate degree, are in the last stages of a baccalaureate degree, or have been away from school for some period of time and want to re-examine the possibility of completing your education.

The curriculum identified below serves as both the core curriculum for entry into any of CAIM International Bible Institute’s (CIBI) degree programs, as well as the curriculum for the CAIM International Bible Institute (CIBI) Certificate in Christian Ministry Program.

Students who have previously completed any of these courses may request a waiver when proof of completion is provided. Students who have an earned degree from any recognized theological institution are exempt from this requirement.

Prayer Essentials

This course offers a step-by-step guide to building a church that understands prayer as the foundation to Christian ministry.  Participants will be given the methodology to intentionally build prayer into the life and structure of the church as well as their personal life.  The text for this course was written by President Church who, among many of his testimonies on the power of prayer, shares that he was personally healed from terminal cancer.

Old Testament Survey

The text of this course is a widely used narrative survey of the Old Testament. This study is for college freshmen and sophomores whose primary educational modality has been visual.  It is also used as a refresher for established Christians who may be entering higher levels of study but have not formally taken a course with this level of information and study.

New Testament Survey

This course is a most enlightening look not only of the written Word of the New Testament, but also allows for the examination into the backgrounds and historical accounts of leaders of relevant ears within the New Testament books of the Bible.  The text is well written and makes abundant use of visual learning aids.

Introduction to Church History

This course will offer an introductory look into the annals of church history from the apostolic age, through the reformation and 21st century Christian ideologies.  In addition, this class will also explore biblical origins and how they interact with and in the context of church history.

Introduction to Biblical Hermeneutics

This course evaluates the various systems of interpretation, introduces the field of hermeneutics, describes the various levels of meaning, examines the basic principles and practice of biblical exegesis and analyzes the historical tradition of interpretation.

Introduction to Christian Ethics

This course will examine the poignant question of what it means to be Christian and what being Christian means in terms of how we live out biblical mandates.  Students will explore how Christians live as moral people who pursue a life that models a Christian worldview within the framework of Christian Ethics.  In addition, students will review, using the principles we find in scripture and various other textbooks and sources, the ethical Christian course that may be explored in the many situations that life presents.

Introduction to Pastoral Care/Counseling

This course is designed to integrate biblical principles with counseling techniques to promote healing to the Body of Christ.  The purpose and goal of this course is to gain an understanding of the counseling process from a biblical perspective.  Students will learn the three-Stage Model of Counseling, and how to use it along with the Bible in order to provide effective counsel to the Church.

Introduction to Worship

In this course the student will learn how to minister through prophetic worship.  Students will find relevant information on the many different aspects of worship. Students will also understand how to worship God from the heart, and they will experience and understand how to move from the outer court into the inner court and into the holies of holy.

Electives:

·         Kingdom Mandate

This course will reveal the importance of the Kingdom of God and help students to understand that the Kingdom of God is not only a mandate, but also a mindset.  Additionally, this course will tap into, and bring clarity, along with revelation of the important role the Kingdom has in the context of today’s society.

·         Apostolic Mandate

This course deals with the original mandate that God placed upon mankind, the role of the apostle, the impact of the apostolic upon the church, and the transformation and empowerment of Church by the Holy Spirit.

·         Hebrew I and Hebrew II (prerequisite Hebrew I)

This course will teach students the Hebrew language while helping the student to become familiar with the history and the dialect of the language.  Students will learn to pronounce the Hebrew alphabet, and read the Hebrew text in its purest state, while also understanding the usefulness of this language in modern society.
